OUR TAKE

Visa nearly doubled and now leads Austin by a wide margin, hiring across software engineering, DevOps, and crypto/blockchain. All direct, all FTE. Not an agency play, but a sign of where Austin tech investment is accelerating. The real BD signal is SES, which appeared from nowhere with 21 postings including .NET architects and Juniper network engineers, 24% of them contract. Accenture and Citi are both ramping quietly, up 29% and 28%.

New Movers

Companies that surged or appeared for the first time this week.

  • SES — 0 → 21 postings. .NET, Juniper networking, cloud. 24% contract. Brand new to the Austin market.

  • TexcelVision — 2 → 14 postings. 100% contract. Full Stack Java, AI/ML Agent Engineers, SRE/DevOps. Strongest agency signal in this week's data.

  • ICF International — 4 → 16 postings. .NET, QA. All FTE, but quadrupling in two weeks means a new project ramp.

  • Dell — 6 → 12 postings. Kubernetes platform engineers, network architects.

  • Lockheed Martin — 4 → 10 postings. Cloud architects, software engineers.

Repeat Posting Alert

Same role posted 3+ times in one week. This pattern usually means internal recruiting isn't filling the seat.

  • Jabil Circuit — DevOps CI/CD Engineer posted 10 times

  • First-Citizens Bank — Senior Java Engineer posted 9 times, Lead QA Engineer (4x), Senior React Engineer (4x)

  • TexcelVision — AI/ML Agent Engineer posted 4 times (all contract)

  • Progressive Leasing — Lead .NET Engineer posted 5 times (total postings dropped from 18 to 7, but they still can't fill this one role)

Contract Watch, BD Leads

47% of all Austin IT postings this week contain contract or C2H language. That's 1,015 roles where companies are actively open to staffing help, up from 759.

TexcelVision — 14 contract roles (100%)

KSN Technologies — 7 contract roles

V-Soft Consulting — 7 contract roles (71%)

Bright Sol — 7 contract roles

Innosoul — 6 contract roles

PRIMUS Global — 6 contract roles (83%)

MSYS — 6 contract roles

Link Technologies — 6 contract roles

Arthur Lawrence — 6 contract roles

Staffing Firm ~ Competitor Watch

  • Motion Recruitment leads Austin staffing activity with 35 postings (19 contract), tied with Robert Half (35, 22 contract). Kforce is close behind at 32 (28 contract). AaraTechnologies posted 24 roles, all contract. Trigyn Technologies posted 18, all contract. In total, staffing firms posted 282 roles this week, up from 236.

OUR TAKE

Kforce remains almost entirely contract (28 of 32). AaraTechnologies and Trigyn are 100% contract, posting the same DevOps, QA, and cyber roles across multiple cities. If you compete in the contract space, these firms are your benchmark for volume. Robert Half overtook everyone else in mixed placement (22 contract, 13 FTE), a sign they're pushing hard on both sides.

Quick Takes

  • Contract ratio jumped from 43% to 47% in two weeks. The market is shifting toward more agency-friendly roles.

  • TexcelVision is the strongest single BD lead this week: 14 postings, 100% contract, repeat posting the same AI/ML role. If you place AI or Java talent, call them.

  • Jabil is still posting the same DevOps role 10 times. Two weeks running. They need help.

  • First-Citizens Bank posted the same Java role 9 times. Also 4x QA and 4x React. Major ramp with clear internal recruiting struggles.
